It was a beautiful sunny day in Richmond VA when Lauren & Matt Decided to tie the knot at Tredgar Iron Works. Wanting something that wouldn’t be a lot of fuss they figured that Tredegar would be naturally aesthetic pleasing and not require a lot of fuss. The old brick, iron, and river background is spectacular all on its own, and made a perfect back drop for the ceremony. Lauren dressed in a beautiful lace dress with a white flower head piece that gave her look a 1920′s vibe and Matt in a tailored black suite they said their I do’s hand in hand while being serenaded by their old friends (like something out of the movie love actually). I’m so happy to have been a part of this day, here are a few of our favorites from the day.

It’s impossible to say what I love most about her since there is so much to love. I adore her laugh and smile and I love the way she brings out my strong and confident side. However, I think I most love her caring nature towards others and her drive to make the world a better place for everyone, be it human or animal or other. Oh, and she’s a great cook, too!

He is so compassionate and caring. While I would never ask him to, he would give up anything for me, and that feeling of love and devotion is overwhelming. He is silly and dorky and always trying to make me smile. He makes me believe I am strong and beautiful. He is willing to try new things (e.g., yoga). His sense of humor is basically as bad as mine. I can list so many things, but the bottom line for me is that I am his, he is mine, and we are us – and I had never been so happy and felt such a depth of love until those three things came into being.

It was a beautiful day for a wedding, not too hot or too cold, as Tiffany departed her house in her lace wedding gown that she had purchased from Bella Rosa Bridal. Arriving at The Cathedral of The Sacred Heart in a very hollywood style entrance Tiffany walked right into the wedding ceremony with her bridesmaids dressed in a pink blush chiffon dresses where she finally got to see Dustin for the first time who was was looking quite dapper in his brown tuxedo. After such a beautiful ceremony at The Cathedral of The Sacred Heart filled with tears, smiles, and a first Kiss as husband and wife guests made their way to The house of Tiffany’s Mother for a back yard reception which was absolutely stunning! The beautiful draping tent liner & chaiavari chairs and purple and gold accents were breathtaking and so much fun to photograph. And each couple walked away with a little pot of rosemary a favor from the lovely couple. It was such a treat to work on this wedding, with so many great vendors as well as another photographer who we brought in to help (Stephanie Yonce) some of whose photos made it into this post! From the moment I began photographing Rotesha & Monte’s engagement session I knew that they would be a fun couple to work with. Rotesha & Monte have a great sense of style, choosing white tuxedo jackets for their wedding (very old school bond) and a jaw dropping chiffon & lace wedding dress. It was so amazing, the ruffles working up from the beaded empire waist was a sight to be seen. It was all so old school and yet modern too, The vintage charm of Main street station worked beautifully with their wedding vibe as well with it’s inspiring classic architecture, solid marble columns, and impressive woodworking. It was a throwback to parties of the 1920′s and all too much fun to photograph. Here are a few of my favorites from the day!
