Richmond Wedding Photographers | Melinda & Victor Engaged!

Melinda & Victor are such a fun loving couple! Seriously these two are always laughing together, it really made shooting their engagement so much fun! I think we laughed the whole way through. Here are a few of my favorites from the day as well as their engagement story in their own words.

In july we went on our first cruise with friends. Towards the end of our vacation he made reservations at a very nice restaurant on the ship. At the beginning of dinner he told me to remind him to tell me a funny story after dinner. So after dessert I reminded him, and he reached into his jacket and pulled out a black box and sat it on the table. I looked at him and said is that your funny story? He looked at me and said yes as he opened the box. I was so surprised! He continued to say sweet things to me but i can’t remember any of it! I was just still in shock and remember just saying “really” over and over again. then he took the box came around to my side and got down on one knee. He said a few more sweet things and asked me to marry me….i said yes;)

Richmond Wedding Photographers | Celebrations | Michelle & Marc Engaged!

Michelle and Marc are such a fun couple to work with, quick to laugh and just fun to hang out with.  We shot until the sun went down on the lake. These shots were taken at Celebrations, the same location that their wedding will be and there are just so many awesome little spots that I can’t wait to come back for the wedding! Here are a few of my favorites as well as their engagement story in their own words!

It was January 8, 2012 and Marc and I had a whole day planned to celebrate a year of us dating. We went to brunch , watched the Giants game, and then readied ourselves for dinner. Our plans were to go to The Bonefish Bar and Grill since we had our first date there the previous year. We had a delicious dinner and came home to continue our anniversary with some Rockband playing. We had done this on our first date as well. So, we were in the middle of a rockband break, and all of a sudden he was on one knee in front of me. He showed me the ring he had picked out for me and I immediately began crying. He then said….”well aren’t you going to say yes?” My reply was “But you haven’t even asked me yet!” through tears of joy. So, he simply asked me to marry him, and I of course said yes! One of the first things that went through my mind at that moment was a quote that a friend shared with me before Marc and I went on our first date. Her and I were at work, she had heard that I was going to meet Marc for the first time, and she said to me…”What if this is the very last first date you ever go on?” I immediately scoffed at her because Marc and I hadn’t even met yet. But looking back now, now that Marc and I are engaged to be married, she was completely right. I shared this with Marc after he proposed and he smiled from ear to ear. I guess it just goes to show that friends can read situations even before the people involved can.

Richmond Wedding Photographers | Katherine & Jordan Engaged!

Katherine & Jordan are such a cute couple, deathly afraid of frogs and totally in love with country music Katherine is a fun loving girl who is quick to laugh. Jordan is a baseball pitcher who’s calm demeanor and welcoming personality can put anyone at ease. I had such a blast with these two, I can not wait to shoot your wedding! Here are a few of my favorites from the day as well as their engagement story in their own words.

Jordan and I began our evening with a fantastic dinner at one of the best restaurants in the DC area (Sweetwater Tavern). I was so excited to go, and was even more excited that my family was in town for a visit. But that’s not where we went after, we went to his place (I was upset and just wanted to go be with my family because they were in town) and he kept saying “let’s just go so we can have some time alone before we go over to your house.” The more he spoke the more I became agitated (HAHA). We were sitting on his couch, and he began to say all of these wonderful things to me, about how much he loved me, and wanted to spend the rest of his life with me (not normal for us, we aren’t a mushy gushy couple) so I said Love you too, and we moved on. Jordan said ok, let’s go back over to your house and visit with your family. The next thing I know, as were making our way to the door, he start shuffling through his back pocket. I thought GREAT he’s giving me money! HAHA! But then he was down on one knee with a ring in his hand asking me to marry him! I couldn’t believe what was happening!! I was so shocked and taken off guard that I couldn’t formulate any sentences! It was one of the best experiences of my life, and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with him!
