Richmond Wedding Photographers | The Omni Hotel | Sarah & Stephen Married!!!

We’re so happy to have been able to photograph this couples wedding, they are such a great couple soft spoken but quick to laugh! This was a bit challenging for me since 95% of it was artificial light, but I think it forced me to be a little more creative! Here are a handful of my favorites!

Steve is a very caring, loving person. Always willing to help someone out. Steve and I are like two puzzle pieces. We fit together well but are totally different. My weaknesses are his strengths and his support is unending. Steve is a bookworm and I am a computer geek. He loves history and I am partial to science, but we always manage to find common ground. Like when we stop everything to laugh at and dote on our 6 month old puppy, Isabelle.

Sarah is a wonderful person, both beautiful and extremely intelligent. I love the black fleck in her left eye more than anything.

Richmond Wedding Photographers | Libby Hill Park | Jenney & Joe Engaged!

I loved working with Jenney & Joe, they are such a fun loving couple! They actually live up in NOVA right now and let me choose the engagement location so I chose Libby Hill Park which is rising on my list of favorite richmond photo locations! Here are a few of my favorites as well as their engagement story in their own words!

I’ve never been to Disney World, so when we planned a trip in April with Joe’s family, I was super excited. On our second day there, we went to the Magic Kingdom. I felt like I was a 6 year old! At the end of the night, Joe’s sister & her husband, Joe & I, stayed to watched the fireworks show. We found the perfect spot right in front of Cinderella’s Castle, and I was in a trance once the music and fireworks started. The last song was “When You Wish Upon a Star”, and as soon as it came on, I went to take some pictures. I heard Joe behind me whisper to his sister “I’m going to do it now”, and then I looked over my shoulder and there he was on one knee. I was in so much shock I just saw his lips moving. Finally, I came to just in time to hear him say, “Will you make my wish come true – will you marry me?”. I said, “Yes”.

Richmond Wedding Photographers | Libby Hill Park | Keasha & Steven Engaged!

Working this this couple was so much fun! Not only were they a great looking couple but we had a lot of fun! I love the fact that this couple brought props with them because it made for such a more interesting shoot! The balloons were the perfect unexpected touch that we needed to break things up and have fun. Here are some of my favorites from the day as well as their engagement story in their own words!

“It was my 30th birthday on 9/10/11. We met on 6/7/08. Steve planned to take me to Caesars in Atlantic City, New Jersey for my birthday. He got me spa treatments in the morning and we ate oysters for lunch. We did some shopping at the Pier Shops after lunch. Steve told me there was a surprise scheduled for 6pm that day. We began walking out along the pier and I was confused since we were walking past all the stores. I had no idea where we were going. We approached the end of the pier and I thought the surprise was a special water show. But it wasn’t. We continued to the outdoor deck on the third level of the pier and Steve gave be a birthday card with a “You’re the one” theme. He said the card was my surprise. I began reading the card and was more confused when I noticed a photographer taking photos of us. Steve realized I was struggling bit, so he took me by the hand and walked me to the railing of the pier overlooking the ocean and boardwalk. He expressed h
is desire to be with me forever and share all of our birthdays forever together. He said he loved me with all his heart and soul and asked me to be his wife. He got one knee and asked me to marry him. I said yes and was overcome with emotion. The people on the pier were clapping and cheering. But for that moment in time, Steve and I were the only people in the world. We shared a long, intimate hug. I couldn’t believe what just happened! We were engaged!!! We took photos for about an hour after that with the photographer on the pier, boardwalk and beach. Steve took me to our favorite restaurant Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse for dinner. There were flowers waiting on the table. The entire day, my birthday and the proposal were simply amazing! ”
